The Interchange
Ying Tong is the co-founder of The Interchange, a circular economy social enterprise based in Singapore. Alongside co-founder Nic, she leads the studio’s operations, business development, and community engagement, building spaces where communities shape what gets made, not just receive it. The Interchange transforms non-mainstream waste, like PP woven rice bags, drink cartons, and LDPE soft plastics, into everyday items through its Research, Design, and Fabrication protocol. Its Stitch Up! workshops bring this process to corporates and communities, while The Lab shares research openly so others can build on it. The studio is supported by the SG Eco Fund and recognised by raiSE as a social enterprise and NVPC as a Company of Good.
