Malminderjit (Mal) is Chief Operating Officer at corporate relations and public policy advisory consultancy Speyside Group having formerly worked in journalism, academia and the public service. He was previously Managing Director of the Singapore office of stakeholder relations firm Penta Group. Outside of work he hones his skills in stakeholder relations as Chairman of the Sikh Advisory Board, and serves on Singapore’s National Steering Committee of Racial and Religious Harmony. He also works with under-privileged communities as a Board of Visitor member to the Singapore Prisons and as a Review Committee member to Children and Young People’s Homes, while also co-founding The Birthday Collective with friends as a brain, hand and heart thrust in Singapore. He has recently been appointed Kampong Chai Chee’s Harmony Circles Chairman.
He currently serves as an Advisor to ASEAN Business Youth Association, and to Mental ACT. In addition, he was elected by his industry peers as a Council member of the Institute of Public Relations Singapore (IPRS) and appointed by MTI to the Genetic Modification Advisory Council and by MSF to the AfA on Strengthening Family Relationships and Marriages. He has previously been President of the Young Sikh Association and a founding member of the SINDA Youth Club, serving subsequently as its Vice Chairman. He also been on SINDA’s Communications and Marketing sub-committee. He was recently appointed a Justice of the Peace and received the Friends of MCCY Award and the NTU Alumni Award. He is also an European Union Visitor Programme delegate.
